Die Kaiserappartements in der Wiener Hofburg sind die historisch-authentischen Wohnräume Kaiser Franz Josephs und Kaiserin Elisabeths. Hier wandelt man auf den Spuren des berühmten Kaiserpaares und taucht in deren persönliche Wohnatmosphäre ein.

Highlights sind das Schlaf- und Arbeitszimmer des Kaisers, Sisis Turn- und Toilettezimmer sowie der Speisesaal mit prunkvoll gedeckter Tafel. Das Sisi Museum widmet sich voll und ganz der berühmten Kaiserin Elisabeth. In sechs Räumen gibt die außergewöhnliche Inszenierung Einblick in die vielschichtige Persönlichkeit der Kaiserin.

Themen wie ihre Auflehnung gegen das strenge Zeremoniell am Wiener Hof, ihre Flucht in Schönheit, Schlankheit und sportliche Höchstleistungen, ihre Gedichte und ihre Reisen stehen im Vordergrund. Begleiten Sie die Kaiserin von ihrer Kindheit bis zu ihrem tragischen Tod in Genf im Jahr 1898.

In der Silberkammer sind die Glanzstücke des kaiserlichen Haushalts zu bewundern. Neben wertvollem Glas, Silber und Porzellan werden auch Tafelwäsche sowie Koch- und Backutensilien aus der Hofküche präsentiert. Die Silberkammer gewährt Einblick in höfisches Zeremoniell, Tafelkultur und Tischdekoration.

Die Kaiserappartements, das Sisi Museum und die Silberkammer sind täglich von 9.00 bis 17.30 geöffnet. Im Ticketpreis inkludiert sind Audioguides in vielen verschiedenen Sprachen.

The Imperial Apartments in the Vienna Hofburg are the historically authentic residential suites once occupied by Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth. Here you can tread in the footsteps of the famous imperial couple and drink in the atmosphere of the rooms in which they lived.

Highlights include the emperor’s bedroom and study, Sisi’s exercise and dressing room as well as the dining room with its table set for a magnificent banquet. The Sisi Museum is devoted to the famous Empress Elisabeth. The thoughtfully designed displays spread over six rooms give a unique insight into the many facets of the empress’s personality.

The themes that are foregrounded here include her revolt against the rigid etiquette that prevailed at the Viennese court and the ways in which she attempted to escape it: the cult of her beauty and the preservation of her slender figure, her athletic achievements, her poetry and her travelling. Accompany the empress on her life’s journey, from her childhood to her tragic death in Geneva in 1898.

The Silver Collection showcases highlights from the imperial household. Presented alongside precious glass, silver and porcelain are table linen as well as utensils used for cooking and baking in the court kitchens. The Silver Collection offers an insight into courtly ceremony, the culture of imperial dining and table decoration at court.

The Imperial Apartments, the Sisi Museum and the Silver Collection are open daily from 9 am to 5.30 pm. Included in the price of admission are audio guides in a wide range of different languages.
