Unsere Aufführung trägt dem Standort Schloss Schönbrunn und dem Wesen des Marionettentheaters Rechnung. Die Inszenierung spiegelt die malerische Umgebung des Schlosses wieder. Die Wege im Park, die Römische Ruine, der Tiergarten und sein Pavillon, bilden den Hintergrund auf der Bühne und die Marionetten sind zu manchen Aktionen imstande, die den Kollegen von der großen Oper zwangsläufig unmöglich sind.

The art of marionettes playing has a long tradition. At Mozart’s lifetime the marionettes theatre of Prince Esterházy was playing in Schönbrunn with great success.
Especially the display of a miniature world on stage is the particular charm of this kind of art. Human figures as well as objects are put to life with artistic hands and constitute nourishment for the interpretation of allegoric contents.
The Marionettes Theatre Schloss Schönbrunn stands in the tradition of the marionettes play and follows a form of art that is unique in its art of playing in Europe and characteristic for Austria.
